Day-30 Inspired by a Tutorial

Day 30
Inspired by a Tutorial
Hello! Today I tried a easy tutorial. I started with a base coat of Orly Nail Defense. Then I striped with Color Club What a Shock (Neon Green), Color Club Almost Famous (Yellow), Ruby Kisses Hot Pink Obsession. Then I added striping tape in zig zags after the nail polish dried. Then I added 1 coat of Sinful Colors Whats Your Name (Shimmer Black). My mistake was I added my top coat too soon. There are smudges from the application. So, my tip to you is to make sure your black coat is somewhat dry before adding topcoat.

Here are a couple of pictures from the game yesterday against Tennessee.

This is my husband and I.

This is my friend Leighanne and me.

Day 29- Inspired by Supernatural

Day 29
Inspired by Supernatural
Different Dimension
Ectoplasm
Hello! This is a glow in the dark polish. I wasn't able to get any good pictures of it glowing though. I will try to get some tomorrow when the sun comes up. But, I thought the name was fitting for the challenge name.
Ectoplasm is said to be formed by physical mediums when in a trance state. This material is excreted as a gauze-like substance from orifices on the medium's body and spiritual entities are said to drape this substance over their nonphysical body, enabling them to interact in the physical and real universe. According to mediums, the ectoplasm can not occur in light conditions as the ectoplasmic substance would disintegrate.-Wikipedia

I started with 1 coat of Sinful Colors Slate, a nice grey color. I didn't put more to make it opaque because I didn't want to wait 3 hours for all the layers to dry, even with fast dry top coat. Then I added 2 coats of Ectoplasm.

Indie-pen-dance
Grand Finale
Naild'It Unique Polish

Hello! I just got back from the movies and had
2 hours to do today's challenge and tomorrow's.
I started with 1 coat of white and then striped red and blue polish.
 Then I topped with
Indie-pen-dance Grand Finale Naild'It Unique Polish.

I also weighed in the morning. Here is the results...
The exact same as 8 days ago.
I am proud. I haven't been eating as strict or working out.
I'm happy. I plan on buckling down after this weekend.
We are tailgating for the UGA game tomorrow started at 9am until the night, so that's why I had to do both days tonight. I'll post pics later.

Day 27- Inspired by Art

Day 27
Inspired by Art
Hello! Today has been one of THOSE days.
But, first lets get to the 31 day nail challenge.
I picked an easy, but fun, Sugar Skull nail decal
that I ordered from RLR Nail Creations Art.
Check her out. She makes all the decals her self.
I custom ordered some other nail decals as well. Miami Dolphins (to wear on Sundays with my hubby), Monster High (for my daughter when I do her nails), My little Pony (the original one, for me :),
Pink Ribbon (for next month), and some Bat ones.
Each are about $2 each,  free shipping. I will show you those later.
Anyways, I started with OPI My Private Jet. This is the non linear holo version, as you can see below. I still like it a lot.
Then I added my FAVORITE multi color glitter by Candy Lacquer-Candy Store. Instead of red glitters like most multi colored glitter polishes have,
it has hot pink glitters. The center finger I put white and then added the decal.

I wore this serious color today because I had to go to court for a speeding ticket. I had to pay a hefty fine :*(
Then I find out that an order I made from a group order that was supposed to arrive 3 weeks ago is most likely lost. It was 2 BSJ Holographic polishes! Oh the agony! I ordered the purple one and the blue one. It seems out of the group buy I am the ONLY one who has a lost package. Talk about unlucky.
The rest of my day was OK, just the dent in my pocket from paying the fine and the loss of my holographic goodies :*(

Day 26- Inspired by a Pattern

Day 26
 Inspired by a Pattern

There are so many patterns I wanted to try. But, I had to be realistic and chose one I could complete successfully. Sitting behind me was this bag with a dot pattern that looked simple enough. I used Sinful Colors Black on Black,  made a line using NYC Fuchsia Shock Creme, then dotted on the black dots. Now, I could have painted my nails black and waited for it to dry then used tape and made clean lines with the pink. And I could have been more careful when dotting and made the dots equal in size.
Woulda Shoulda Coulda, lol.

Day 25- Inspired by Fashion

Day 25
Inspired by Fashion
Hello, I picked something doable by me.
I picked my personal fashion.
I put 2 coats of Nox Twilight Talon and
then added some nail stickers and
topped it with Out the Door fast dry top coat.
I really like Nox Twlight Talon.
It went on easily and looks great. I hope to get more colors.

I used my Urban Decay Vice palette shadows again.
Occupy and Unhinged (blues) and Anonymous (matte cream)

Day 24- Inspired by a Book- AiW- LOTD

Day 24
Inspired by a Book
Alice in Wonderland-Queen of Hearts
Simple manicure, but I love it!
2 coats of white polish and 1 coat of Candy Lacquer-Dark Hearts.
I did have to place the heart glitters where I wanted, but it wasn't a task to fish them out. Top coat 1 coat, Out the Door.

This is more my idea of what the Queen of Hearts would look like :)

Here is my face look of the day.
Urban Decay Vice Palette shadows Anonymous (matte cream), Desperation (matte grey), Armor (shimmer grey), and Black Market (black). I am wearing Urban Decay foundation Naked in 4.0.

Day 23- Inspired by a Movie (Mean Girls)-LOTD

Day 23
Inspired by a movie
Movie-Mean Girls
Sorry forgot to post this yesterday!
Karen: I can't go out. [faux coughs softly] I'm sick.
Regina: Boo, you whore!

I wore 1 coat of black and then 1 thick coat of
 Different Dimension-Boo, You Whore!
Then I topped it with Out the Door fast dry top coat.

Below is my outfit from Saturday night.
We went to the concert and had a blast.
I tried to new Urban Decay Vice Palette out.
I am not sure I like the new formula compared to the last one.
They aren't as creamy.
But, it worked. I just has a harder time blending.
I wore a shirt from the Body Shop, Express jeans, and Jessica Simpson shoes.

And this is me and my hubby before we went into the concert.
My husband is wearing Marc Anthony.

Day 22-Inspired By a Song-LOTD-Mail

Day 22
Inspired by a Song

Hey! Today's manicure is inspired by a song.
Tonight I am going to a friend's concert. His name is Rowdy B. There are a lot of things going on tonight. But, since we are trying to support his career, we are going to his concert. I picked on of his songs, High Life. I was in this video, so I thought it was fitting. I will post pictures of tonight for you guys tomorrow. You can see where my thumb is healing.

Last night we went to our friend Isa's birthday dinner. Here are some pictures from that. You can also see how I was inspired to do my nails...I had on a dress I bought from www.GreatGlam.com. I love to shop from that website. Good selection, true sizes, fast delivery and nice service. My shoes are my favorite brand, Jessica Simpson. My jewelry is from my store. The girl with the long black hair next to me in the pictures is the birthday girl, Isa. She doesn't look 36, does she?

Today's mail!
The Vice palette. I am going to try it out tonight for the concert. I also got a back up mascara and and a lipstick in Pistol color.

Blue Christmas, Light it Up Blue (Glow in the Dark), Spectral Tiger (Glow in the Dark), Fight Like a Girl, Ectoplasm (Glow in the Dark)

Day 21-Inspired by a Color/ LOTD

Color
Day 21

Hello! Today's challenge is "inspired by...a color". My color was going to depend on what I wore to my friend's birthday dinner. I decided on a little black dress (can't go wrong with that!). So, it was either going to be red polish or black polish. Those were the colors I was in the mood to wear. I was going through my stash at stopped at Impala-SPFW Na Mira 3D and decided to wear it over black. I received it as an extra in my Brazilian swap with my dear friend Melina. We are organizing our next swap (we have had 2 before, click here to see those swaps). I am excited. She is going to try to get the new HITS Hello Kitty polishes as well as some HITS glitter forte.

I will try to take pictures of my whole outfit to show how it went together.

LOTD
My make up today. I used Urban Decay shadows Fishnet (hot pink), Omen (Purple), Half Truth (dark purple), Vanilla (cream) and Zero (black).

I usually use the Lancome eye shadow palette with the light cream color as a base. I posted a picture of it below. My mascara and lip gloss are shown below.

Day 20- Marble Nails /LOTD

Day 20
Marble Nails
Hey! Its a gloomy day here in Atlanta. I have to work all day, so I don't mind :) Today's challenge was one of my most dreaded (with tribal being my most dreaded). This is my second attempt at marble nails. The result is that of a beginners. What I did try differently this time was to use school glue around my cuticles and on my fingers for easier clean up. It worked great. I just peeled off the glue and most of the nail polish came off with it. I still had to use a q tip with acetone to clean up though. I used tape the first time I tried marble and it was time consuming to tape each finger and then afterwards to cut it all off. I won't be doing the tape again. Anyways, back to this picture. I used Sation-Just Lilac That as my base. Click here to see a review on it by Concrete and Nail Polish. You can see on my thumb that I left it just that color. Then I used Sinful Colors- Black on Black and Sinful Colors-Feeling Great. Here is a short review by definitelyaddicted.com on Sinful Colors Feeling Great.

LOTD
I matched my eyes to my shirt, as usual. It has reddish orange (beauty supply palette, no name), gold (Urban Decay-Honey) and black(Urban Decay-Zero) shadows with a cream (Lancome gift with purchase set) highlight. My lips are a coral color (Estee Lauder lip palette). Maybelline FIT blush. Loreal liquid eyeliner and Laura Mercer mascara. I like the look.
This was not my original outfit for the day. I ironed a pin stripe white suit that is one of my favorites to wear today. I haven't worn it since last year. But, when I went to put it on this morning, I could not  button it  :*(
This is why I am on a diet and workout kick....I hate not fitting into my clothes. I refuse to buy more clothes when I have so many that look great in my healthy size.
So, that brings us to my weigh in...

DAY 25-37 days until the Halloween party
Original weight was 135.2 and today I am 126.8.
That is 8.4 pounds less in 25 days. I could be doing a lot better, but then again, I could be doing worse.
I still want to lose about 10 more pounds in 37 days.
At this rate I won't get there.
So, I need to step up my game.

Day 19-Galaxy- LOTD

Day 19
Galaxy Nails
Hello! I am in a great mood.
I always am when I get a day off during the week. I told my husband I would be a happy person 24/7 if I never had to work, lol. Anyways, on to the nails.
This day was more of what I like to do. There are no precise lines, so imperfections are not as noticeable on this type of nail art. I started with Orly's Haley Comet, then I dabbed with a make up sponge Color Club-Blue Lights and Orly-Lunar Eclipse. I then put some China Glaze-Fairy Dust on top. That really brought it together. It blended the colors and gave it that cosmic sparkle. China Glaze Fairy dust is a must for any polish lover. I use it a lot. After that dried I dabbed on some larger glitter from China Glaze-Techo, topped it with some fast dry top coat and taa dah! lol.

It was chilly this morning (55 degrees). I wore my favorite hoodie.
Its a bright green and by Puma.
Since I will probably have it on all day, I matched my eye make up to it. I used Milani eyeshadow crayon in green and blended it with a Lancome light off white shimmer color from a gift with purchase shadow set.
The lashes are Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara. The liquid liner is Loreal. My cheeks are Maybelline Fit Blush. My lips are Milani Fashion Diva.
 Very casual look.

My diet and workouts...
Well, the diet part I am still doing. Just not the workouts. I feel guilty if I come home late because of my kids. I don't want them to wait long for dinner or help with their homework. I use that as an excuse not to stay after work to go to the gym. But, it is the truth. I need to step it up though. I weighed myself this morning and I am still at 127. Which, I am very happy about, considering I haven't been exercising at all. I vow to make an effort to workout everyday, starting today.

Thanks for reading!

Day 18- Half Moon- Halloween Nails

Day 18
Half Moon

Hello again :) My cat attacked my hand, so I have scratches on them :(
I couldn't decide on which colors to do my manicure for the half moon theme. I thought I would add some nail stickers to it, regardless of whatever I did chose. With that in mind, I picked a nail sticker first. Originally I chose some tropical flower stickers that were yellow, green and orange with glitter accents. But, After I painted my nails I realized they look just like candy corn. Halloween stickers are abundant in my stash, so that's what I picked instead. I used scotch tape and cut them into semi circles instead of the circle stickers I see people using. I only had tape. You can see my semi circles are not symmetrical. I was hoping the stickers would distract from that imperfection. I used Color Club-Almost Famous for the yellow (2 coats) and 1 coat Ruby Kisses-Spicy Apricot and 1 coat Out the Door top coat. The result is so so.

I also did my Day 19 nails (Galaxy), which I love and will post tomorrow.
My toes got some attention, too. I wore my favorite Orly's Haley's Comet topped with Orly's Mermaid's Tale. 1 coat of each and 1 coat of Out the Door Top coat. They are very sparkly.

I did not go to work today. I stayed home did laundry and reorganized part of my closet and my downstairs shoe closet. I have about 60 shoes...lol...who knew? Here is a picture of it below.

Day 17- Glitter

Day 17
Glitter
I own a lot of glitter polishes. I had a hard time deciding on which to wear. So, I went against the glitter bombs and went for a subtle color shift Ozotic 528 over 505 over black.
I mentioned in another post I was going to a UGA game.
Here is the only picture I remembered to take before I got tipsy, lol.
I am moving my hand, but besides that, its an OK picture.
Here is another one a friend took

Here is my LOTD
I am trying to wear more clothes, shoes and
make up that I have not given attention to in awhile.
I wore a lot of different brands of make up today.
I have on Urban Decay Gunmetal (Grey),
a Lancome matte cream color from a gift with purchase palette, and a black glitter shadow from the drugstore, I can't remember the brand right now. Lashes are Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara. Liquid liner is Loreal. My lips are Maybelline lip stain in Coral (red) and my cheeks are elf mellow muave.

Urban Decay just released the Vice Palette AND their Big Fatty Mascara is on sale for $5 (compared to $20) When I get home I have a $5 off coupon I am going to use on this purchase :) Oh yeah, shipping is free! Yay!
