Sally Hansen Burgundy Orchid

Sally Hansen Burgundy Orchid

Hi! Look at this beauty.
This Sally Hansen polish was originally released in 2002.
I found a pretty good blog post about this line
I was lucky enough to receive this in a swap from
a friend in Brazil of all places, lol.

I searched for this polish online and saw it is for sale on eBay for $14.99.
I think that is a good price for this hard to find polish.

I was wearing Dance Legend Optical Illusion and thought
it would be the perfect base for Burgundy Orchid.
I think I was right :)
Just 2 coats of Burgundy Orchid
over 1 coat of Dance Legend Optical Illusion
gave me this wonderful result.
In the last picture you can see the holographic effect showing through!

Thanks for reading!

Different Dimension Light it Up Blue

Howdy there :)
Different Dimension made this polish.
Here is what she said about it...

"Light It Up Blue literally glows blue in the dark -
inspired by Autism Speaks and World Autism Day.

This polish has a light blue jelly base with blue & silver holographic glitters & a few large white hexes and it GLOWS BLUE in the dark!!
I will be donating 2.00 from every sale of this polish (& Puzzle Pieces) to Autism Speaks, so not only are you getting an awesome polish, but your money is also going towards an amazing charity!"

This polish glows blue in the dark! Very cool.
I failed to get any pictures of it glowing in the dark.
However, you can click the link above to see some swatches of it glowing.
I chose to wear 1 coat of Light it Up Blue
over 2 coats of Sally Hansen Calypso Blue.
Then I topped it off with 1 coat of top coat.
Even without the cool factor of it glowing, its really pretty. I especially love the holographic glitters that float in the light blue jelly base and the large white glitters add a little somethin' somethin'

Gloss 'n Sparkle Cotinga over Sally Hansen Calypso

Hey!
I have another polish I received during my birthday month to show you.
Gloss 'n Sparkle Continga is a indie brand polish from Austrailia.
That is where my gift came from, too.
I was excited to get this polish.
The color combination reminds me of the old basketball team,
Charlotte Hornets.
I used to wear a starter jacket with that team and their basketball jersey
when I was in junior high.
I thought I was so cool, lol.
They are no longer a team in Charlotte.
But, below is a picture of a hat from when they were.

Below is a close up of Sally Hansen Calypso Blue
Such a pretty carefree blue.
Reminds me of the ocean water when we docked during our cruise last year.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Crowd Surfer

Hey! I have some pretty nail strips to show you today.
I have been looking at all the Sally Hansen Salon Effects
since they were released.
I am just so tight on my wallet, I didn't want to spend $9.99 for 1 box.
It finally dawned on me to search eBay and Amazon for them.
They were on there and for half the price and free shipping!
I LOVE the Avril Lavigne line of salon effects.
This is one of them.
I have a bunch of samples of different brands of nail stickers.
I asked in a nail group on Facebook which brand was the easiest.
Sally Hansen Salon Effects was the only brand everyone said they liked.
So, I decided to try this brand first.
Was it easy? I wouldn't say easy.
But, it was not hard.
Following the directions exactly makes it simple.
I was able to do both hands with one package (2 packages come in 1 box)
and almost had enough to do all my toes.
I have short nails, so this is a benefit when using these nail strips.
However, they do dry out.
So, beware when applying these to make sure
you are being efficient with your time with applying them.
Otherwise, you will end up with dried out nail strips that are of no use.
The sizes of each strip did not perfectly match my nail size.
However, if you just put on a larger one and cover the needed space,
you can just remove the excess with polish remover.
How long did they last? I kept them on for 4 days.
They could have easily lasted longer,
but I can't go that long with the same manicure, lol.
I did have some chips on a couple of fingers.
Removal was easy, just like removing any polish.

I also ordered most of the Halloween collection (my fav holiday)
and some of the winter collection...and some lace print and other prints, lol.
I will post those whenever I get to wearing them.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sally Hansen Bling-tastic and Suave Dry Shampoo

Sally Hansen Bling-tastic (3 coats)

Hey! Look at this beautiful glitter bomb.
I don't know why more people don't wear these.
I only have this color and the red one (Cha-Ching!) from the
Sally HansenGem Crush Collection.
Let me tell you why this polish is worthy of buying.

1. The Color, such a pretty bright blue color.
2. Its super Sparkly.
3. It dries smooth!
4. It dries quickly.

You can find these polishes anywhere Sally Hansen products are sold.

I have really long hair.
My hair has went through a lot in the last 8 months.
I had it bleached then died red every 8 weeks.
Because of the red dye and the length of my hair,
I don't wash my hair but twice a week.
But, on day 3 of not washing my hair, it looks oily.

Here is my cure.
Suave Dry Shampoo gives me about 1-2 more days of
wearing my hair down.
I just spray at the roots by seperating with a comb,
like I am parting my hair from front to back.
The smell is great.
I have concluded it smells like Pineapple Soda.
Yum!

AND....
it's only $2.88 at Walmart!
Woot!

For that price, its worth a try if you have the same issues.

Candy Lacquer Candies & Sprinkles

Candy Lacquer Candies & Sprinkles accents
over
Sally Hansen Virtual Violet (1 coat)
over
OPI Purple with a Purpose (1 coat)

Hey there, this was not how I intended for this manicure to look.
But, I was rushed had to do what I could in the little time I had.
First, OPI Purple with a Purpose is a wonderful purple polish that was nearly opaque in 1 coat and dried very quickly. I am very glad I picked it up.
Sally Hansen Virtual Violet is a lot more opaque then I thought,
I just wanted some shimmery duo chrome look,
but it covered completely with the one coat, lol.
It dried at a decent time.
Candy Lacquer Candies & Sprinkles is the perfect glitter top coat to me.
It is packed full of the prettiest colors!
Instead of the reds, oranges and basic colors we see in multi colored glitters, it is turquoise, lavender, light pink, fuchsia, and dashes of other colors.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sally Hansen Save the Date with Bows!

Sally Hansen Save the Date (2 coats)
 with
Bow stickers
Top coat

Hey there! Quick and easy manicure that is girly.
Save the Date is a dark wine burgundy color
with shimmers of fuchsia and purple.
You can see those shimmers in the picture below.
Lovely color, application was easy and 2 coats
went on easily and dried fast.
No staining what so ever and after 3 days
I did have some small chipping on 2 fingers.
I am very pleased with this polish.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ninja Polish No Peeking!

Ninja Polish No Peeking! (1 coat dabbed on)
over
Sally Hansen Emerald City (2 coats)
with
 Top coat (1 coat)

Hello! I am wearing my most anticipated polish from the
Ninja Polish 2012 Holiday collection, No Peeking!
I have been in love with green lately and this was the exact color of green I love. Since No Peeking is a clear based glitter polish, I wanted to pair it with a tad bit darker green to help the green glitters pop.
I think Emerald City by Sally Hansen fits perfectly.
I bought SH Emerald City at a dollar store that had two polishes in one pack.
It was opaque in 2 coats and had a decent dry time.
After that was dry, I dabbed on 1 coat of Ninja Polish No Peeking! A couple of stars came out on their own, but I didn't have to fish much to find a  few more. It looks like a festive Christmas tree on my fingernails :)

Here is what Ninja Polish said about No Peeking!...

"No Peeking! is part of the 2012 Ninja Polish Holiday collection. No Peeking! is a bright, vibrant fun glitter polish. It is opaque in 2 coats thanks to the ultra fine and small green glitters. Scattered in amogst the green (tree!) you will find red and blue squares (are these presents?! or ornaments?!) and yellow hexes (more oranments maybe?) and an occasional shining holographic star to top the tree!"

No Peeking! is still in stock

Coco Allure Autumn Leaves

Coco Allure Autumn Leaves
over
Sally Hansen Cafe Au Lait

I love fall and the wonderful array of colors nature
has when the season comes.
Coco Allure Autumn Leaves is a perfect reflection of those colors.
I started with a nude tan color that matches
my skin by Sally hansen called Cafe Au lait.
Cafe Au Lait is a tan nude but it also has tiny bits of silver shimmer.
It takes 3 coats to be fully opaque.
I just put 2 coats of Cafe Au Lait.
I added 1 coat of Autumn Leaves and dabbed the glitter around.
I did not have to fish for glitter and
1 coat was the perfect amount of glitter for this manicure.
You can wear this alone with 3 coats, but I wanted to show you the sizes and colors of all the glitters with a simple style.
Coco Allure describes the polish...

"Autumn Leaves is a multi-colored glitter nail polish, much like jewelry for your nails. I wanted to capture the beauty of the changing maple leaves in autumn, and that is exactly what I see when I look at this polish. With gold, copper, orange, red, and brown glitters, just like the gorgeous maple trees in the fall. "

There are gold, red, orange, brown, glitters in hexagon, circle and square shapes in both small and medium sizes.

The combination I choose reminds me of Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the pictures :)

Sation I'm Not a Cougar

Sation I'm Not a Cougar
over
Sally Hansen Celeb City

Hey again! I have another polish combination that
looks like Turkey day food, lol.
This reminds me of stuffing or some people call it dressing.
A side dish that is usually served at American Thanksgiving dinners.
See below picture...lol.

Anyways, back to the polish.
I started with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Celeb City. This polish usually retails for $1.99 or less at many locations. I would describe Celeb City as a shimmer foil silver color. It looked so pretty on its own I didn't want to put anything over it! It takes about 2-3 thin coats to be opaque.

Then I added 2 coats of Sation I'm Not a Cougar.
Odd name.
This glitter polish has a lot going on.
It is in a clear base and has circle, short bar, hexagon glitters
in orange, holographic silver, silver, green, black, and red.
I added 2 coats of Gelous and then 1 coat of top coat to even out the glitter. It was pretty smooth considering the amount of glitter in this polish.
The pictures show some tip wear.
