Hits Samba

Hits Samba 3 coats with matte top coat.
Flakie polish?
I know, holographic is what is all the rage now (again)
and I am one of the ragers.
But, lets take a moment to remember
one of the past fads, flakies.
Using matte top coat helps see the awesomeness in flakie polish.
And that is why I used it.
I think this particular polish looks like jewels and has depth.
I bought this from a blog sale, but I am sure you can find this
at
Thanks for stopping by
and I hope your day/night is going well :)

Hits Flamenco

Hits Speciallita Flamenco (3 coats)
Top coat (1 coat)

Hey again! Here is another flakie I bought on a blog sale.
I have been eyeing this baby since a swap I did in April.
I love red and I love flakies.
But, together this reminds me of a really red tomato cut in half, lol.
Its pretty. But, the gold orange flakies take away from the jelly red.
I wonder if they had put a little blue flakies in what it would've looked like.
Anyway, the formula was great and I had absolutely no issues with chipping after 3 days.
Thanks for stopping by!

Deborah Lippmann Sweet Dreams

Deborah Lippmann Sweet Dreams (2 coats)
Top coat (1 coat)

Hello, let me introduce you to my new favorite pink polish.
This is my first Deborah Lippmann,
thanks to a nice girl named Julia that had a blog sale.
I paid her on Friday night and had it in my hands by Monday!
Talk about a great seller!
I bought this beauty, Hits Flamenco and Ciate Jewel.
I will show you those 2 soon.

Anyways back to the jewel of my Wednesday.
Sweet Dreams is a hot pink jelly polish packed full of golden flakies.
I knew I was going to like it. But, I didn't know the formula was going to make me love it. 2 coats was great and the flakes were very abundant.
And after 3 days of working with my hands, no chips!
I did have to take it off to give my other babies some love, lol.
This polish reminds me of a manicure I wore about a year ago.
China Glaze Strawberry Fields with flakies on top.
I will show you that at the end of this post.

And below is a manicure I wore back when I had fake nails.
China Glaze Strawberry Fields
and the bottom one I added flakies, I think it was one Finger Paints.

Please excuse my dry cuticles.
I was ignorant to the ways of cuticle oil last year.
So, if you can't afford DL-Sweet Dreams.
This combo is a good substitute.
Thanks for reading!

Purple Flakie Manicure

Hits Speciallita Lambada (1 coat)
over
Spoiled Checkin' in Rehab (3 coats)
with
Top coat (1 coat)
and
Butterfly sticker and glitter accents on ring finger

Hey! I tried to recreate my biggest lemming at the moment,
Cult Nails Unicorn Puke/Clairvoyant.
I think I failed.
But, it is an Okay manicure for the day.
I used Spoiled Checkin' into Rehab for the first time.
It is a purple jelly polish with flecks of pink.
As with all jelly polishes, it takes 3-5 coats to reach opacity.
I should've put one more coat of it before adding the flakies on top or layered it over another purple.
The softbox flash really shows how I should've put another coat, lol.
Oh well.
After that was dry, I added 1 coat of Hits Lambada.
Lambada is a clear based polish with orange, red, gold, green and blue flakes.
On my ring finger I did not add Lambada and put a butterfly sticker.
The sticker originally had crystal accents, but after showering those fell off.
I put some glitter accents where the crystal had fallen off.
Then I added 1 more coat of top coat and here is the result.

Thanks for reading!

The Halloween Challenge- Witches

Nfu Oh 51 over China Glaze Bizarre Blurple
Witch
Hello! I have a few untrieds here for you.
I started with China Glaze Bizarre Blurple
from the Halloween 2012 collection.
I was really happy with the formula on Bizarre Blurple.
It went on great, not runny at all.
1 coat covered a lot, but still needed 2 coats for total coverage.
It is exactly like the name a bluish purple.
Then I topped it with one coat of Nfu Oh 51, a beautiful flakie polish with a purple base. I really love both of these polishes and suggest having them.
I topped with 1 coat of fast dry top coat to speed up the drying process.
I kept it simple and just added a cute witch face on my ring finger.

The Halloween Challenge- Trick or Treats

Hello! I am a couple days late on starting this challenge.
Better late than ever!
I started with a 1 coat of WnW Black Creme then added
1 coat of Up Colors Viagem and then put 1 coat of fast dry.
After it was dry I added the stickers then
topped it off with Warpaint Beauty Matte.
Flakie polishes pop better with a matte top coat in my book.
I would have rather put some ghost or skeleton stickers,
but the challenge asked for candy.
Up Color Viagem is a great flakie polish.
You can see all the flakes from just 1 coat.
Up Colors Viagem a 2! is red, gold and green flakies in a yellow base.
See below for the color shifts.

I stopped by a beauty supply and picked up some goodies for low prices.
From Left to Right....
Ruby Kisses-Cast a Spell, Ruby Kisses Mardi Gras, NYX Moon Walk, NYX Enchanted Forest, Kleancolor Metallic Green and NYX Luscious Green.
The Ruby Kisses were $1.99, NYX $1.49 and Kleancolor was $1.
