Hits Samba

Hits Samba 3 coats with matte top coat.
Flakie polish?
I know, holographic is what is all the rage now (again)
and I am one of the ragers.
But, lets take a moment to remember
one of the past fads, flakies.
Using matte top coat helps see the awesomeness in flakie polish.
And that is why I used it.
I think this particular polish looks like jewels and has depth.
I bought this from a blog sale, but I am sure you can find this
at
Thanks for stopping by
and I hope your day/night is going well :)

31DC2013 Day 2: Orange Nails-Miami Dolphins

Hey!
Sorry for my absence.
I have been doing my nails each day of the challenge.
I just didn't have to chance to post about it.
I appreciate you coming back ;)

Here is Day 2, Orange nails.
I decided to do a manicure in honor of my sweet husband's favorite
team, the Miami Dolphins.
I started with Hits Speciallita Quemada, 3 thin coats.
Which is a Brazillian glass fleck orange polish that is similar to
Color Club Sparkle and Soar that was released
in the Take Wing 2012 collection.

After that was dry, I added 1 dabbed on coat of Hit Polish Dolphins
on the shown fingernails.
I then put 2 white ovals on the two remaining nails.
After that was good and dry (2 hours later)
I added the 2 special order decals I received from RLR Creations.
A couple of coats of fast dry top coat and I was done.

I recently acquired my BIGGEST make up lemming
Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette
that was released January 2010.
This is my first look that I did within hours of receiving it.
I blended 3 colors...
Curiouser, White Rabbit, and Queen

My lips are a tinted Burt's Bee lip balm.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hits Speciallita New Wave 368

Hey there! I haven't shown a red in a while.
Here is Hits Speciallita New Wave 368.
This is a densely packed small red glitter polish in a red jelly base.
I put a base coat of Color Club Berry and Bright and then
1 coat of Hits New Wave.
I did not need the base coat.
Below is showing this.
Above is shown with another coat of Hits New Wave.

The red is more on the orange side, which makes me think of Christmas decor.
This polish reminds me of Rudolph's bright red nose.
Or like Dorothy's sparkly red slippers.
This polish is exactly what I wanted when I bought it.
A bright red glitter bomb that goes on with ease and
catches the eye with all the bling.

As can be expected with glitter packed polish, it required about 2 coats of
top coat to smooth out the slightly textured surface of glitter.

Hits New Wave 368 comes from Brazil.
I believe I bought this from a blog sale.
But, it is available at...
for the low price of $5.
There are also many other pretty colors in this collection.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hits Bubbles and Blossom

Hello!
Here are 2 polishes I received over a year ago in a swap from Brazil.
She surprised me with these.
At the time I was really into holos and multi chromes
and did not fully appreciate them.
I let my daughter do her nails a few times with both.
I finally got around to wearing them and LOVE them.
I have read a few other people weren't impressed
with the formulas, brushes, or colors.
But, I have not one complaint.
They went on great with 2 coats.
Stay time was good.
The shimmer gives each color depth.
Maybe the formula was a little thick, but that could be
because my daughter did not tighten the top
well after she used them.

These are 6ml for $5.50 each at ninjapolish.

Anyways, the blue one is Bubbles, which is labeled Lindinha.
and the pink one is Blossom, which is labeled Florzinha.

I took both pictures with my iPhone.
(Below is a picture with over cast sunlight)

(below is with flash)

Here are a list of some of the other colors that were released at the same time in 2012.
In this collection, I also have Elemento X.
I have yet to try it, but when I do, I will be sure to show you :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Blue holographic mani

Hello!
I wore this manicure because it was the first
day we had sun the whole day this summer.
It has been raining like crazy here in Atlanta.
I couldn't decide which blue holographic polish to wear.
I ended up wearing 4 different polishes.
I added top coat over all of them.
I used a base of Duri Rejuvacote and Orly Bonder.

On my pinkie nail I have a base of Maybelline Navy Narcissist
with 1 coat of Hits Hefesto holo top coat.

On my ring finger and thumb I have Dance Legend High Voltage (11).
I added nail stickers.

Middle finger is a base of Maybelline Navy Narcissist
with 1 coat of China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out.

My pointer finger is 2 coats of Hits Apollo.

Now I will talk about these polishes...

Maybelline Navy Narcissist is a gorgeous 1 coater.
It is a metallic polish that dries quickly.
Hits Hefesto is my favorite holographic top coat.

Dance Legend High Voltage is a wonderful
linear holographic polish that goes on like butter.
I used 2 coats.

Hits Apollo is a jelly like holographic that went on
smoothly with 2 coats.

Hits Pink Night

Hey there!
This is a wonderful polish I received in a swap.
The funny thing is, I didn't want it.
But, I knew she wanted what I had, so I just figured "what the hey."
Turns out, I think I got the better end of the swap :)
This is Hits Specialita Pink Night from Brazil.
Its a crelly neon sort of polish.
You know?
A creme and a jelly polish mixed with a
vibrant neon sort of color thing happening.
I believe this is 2 coats, I can't really remember.
I do know that I LOVED wearing it.
I was constantly staring at my hands.
Its like a pink red neon color, a watermelon neon if you will.
The formula went on like butter.
The wear time was good.
I added a butterfly nail sticker just because. lol
This polish is from the 2013 Hits Bright Kit Collection.
You can purchase the set of 3 at NinjaPolish for $15.50
There are 3 different colors. (Pink Night, Hot Friday, Party Rock)
Here is a review of the entire collection. CLICK.
I also received the bright neon green in this collection, called Party Rock.
Which I am excited to try as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hits Speciallita Hello Kitty / LOTD

Hey there.
I received these adorable polishes in my Christmas Swap.
I was so excited to have them.
The colors are very cute as well as the packaging.
I also love Hello Kitty.
The pictures show 2 coats each,
except for the Mint (green) required 3 coats.
The dry time was good and they wore pretty well.
My only complaint was a couple of the brushes
had some wonky bristles and stuck out.
The first coat had me worried because the formula is kind of thick.
But, after the second I saw everything was going to be OK, lol.

Here is my LOTD.
I tried out Maybelline Age Rewind.
Its supposed to be used as a highlighter
or to hide the dark spots under the eyes.
It blended pretty well for me.
I bought the medium shade 130.
It was about $11 or so at Rite Aid.

I also used my Sephora Jasmine Palette
to make a brown smokey eye.
But, you can't really tell because my eyes are open.

My lips are a lipstick I bought at the dollar store :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Purple Flakie Manicure

Hits Speciallita Lambada (1 coat)
over
Spoiled Checkin' in Rehab (3 coats)
with
Top coat (1 coat)
and
Butterfly sticker and glitter accents on ring finger

Hey! I tried to recreate my biggest lemming at the moment,
Cult Nails Unicorn Puke/Clairvoyant.
I think I failed.
But, it is an Okay manicure for the day.
I used Spoiled Checkin' into Rehab for the first time.
It is a purple jelly polish with flecks of pink.
As with all jelly polishes, it takes 3-5 coats to reach opacity.
I should've put one more coat of it before adding the flakies on top or layered it over another purple.
The softbox flash really shows how I should've put another coat, lol.
Oh well.
After that was dry, I added 1 coat of Hits Lambada.
Lambada is a clear based polish with orange, red, gold, green and blue flakes.
On my ring finger I did not add Lambada and put a butterfly sticker.
The sticker originally had crystal accents, but after showering those fell off.
I put some glitter accents where the crystal had fallen off.
Then I added 1 more coat of top coat and here is the result.

Ninja Polish Nebula

Ninja Polish Nebula (1 coat)
over
Hits Daring (1 coat)
over
China Glaze Smoke and Ashes (1 coat)
with
Gelous (2 coats)
Top coat (1 coat)

Hey there! Look at this gem!
I won this pretty baby when I made a purchase on
Black Friday from NinjaPolish.com.
I was so happy to receive it and you can see why.
It combines my three favorite things...multichrome, glitter, and holo!
I decided to couple it with the above listed polishes.
I am sure there are a number of ways to wear Nebula,
but I was trying to recreate appearance of the polish bottle.
I am happy with the outcome.
I did get some shrinkage on my pointer and middle finger,
but that is because I didn't wrap those tips with the top coat...oops!
I am now going to attempt to describe Ninja Polish Nebula to you...
Nebula is a tiny glitter color shift polish that has hues of purple, green, blue and pink and tons of holographic accents in a clear base.
You can wear this alone with 3 coats, but I prefer it as a top coat.
It dries really gritty, so be prepared to smooth it out with Gelous top coat.
This polish has not been released, but you can keep an eye out by visiting

Thanks for reading!

Halloween Nails- Weight Update

Things that go bump in the night!
Hits Zues
Hello! I was really short on time to do my nails. My husband went out of town. We run our business together and, of course, our house hold together. Since he was gone, I had everything on my shoulders. The busy business, 3 homework filled kids, 2 extra large dogs, 1 needy cat and my nails. LOL. Life is good and busy. :) Anyway, back to the nails. My nails all recently broke off. I am sure you can see the nubs. I removed my gel nails in July and the damaged part finally all grew out. For my theme I thought a nice holographic nail polish would help spice up the nubbins. Since the theme had to do with night, it had to be a black holo. This is my first time trying Hits Zeus. It went on easy in 2 coats. I should've went with 3 coats seeing these pictures though. The formula is like a jelly holographic polish, if that makes sense. The above picture is in a lightbox and the below picture is outside. The holoness is not that strong on the nails. Well, not on my nails anyway. It would probably show up much better on long nails...
like almost any polish would, lol.
I added some Halloween themed stickers and 2 coats of top coat.

Also, we had a Secret Pumpkin Swap between some of us ladies in a group.
Below is what I received from a sweet girl from Denmark. Her name is Stinna.
She got me lots of goodies! The new GOSH holo! Butter London Bluey!
Those are my first of each brand :)
She also got eyeshadow, lip balm, cuticle sticks, false eyelashes, nail sickers, nail strips, nail revitilizer, bath soap, a cute card, and TONS of candy! She really spoiled me. I use the lip balm and cuticle sticks multiply times a day.

I haven't posted about my weight in a while. So, here it is!
I have lost a total of 10 pounds.
I have NOT been working out :( I have been doing a handful of sit ups, push ups and squats here and there. Nothing I would deem a workout. BUT, I have been careful of what I eat and how much I eat. Which you can see in my weight. Halloween is coming TOO FAST and I am pretty sure I will NOT reach my goal. But, I would like to lose 4-5 more pounds in the last 8 days. Just so my gut isn't as noticable in the costume.

HITS-ATHENA

Hits-Athena.
LOVE this polish. The color is sooo berry pretty :P lol
Shown with 3 thin coats and 1 coat top coat.
